OUR STORY
Each of the four founding partners has a strong link to the alcobev industry, which sparked our initial connections and friendship. We'd often discuss over a drink how, even now, there were significant gaps in the availability of good quality products at many price points and different taste segments.
We often asked, “Why wasn't someone using these consumer insights and developing a ‘House of Brands’ portfolio to cater to these large unmet needs of the alcobev consumers.” The opportunity to create, partner with, and even acquire appropriately priced and crafted brands to different smaller taste segments was there for the taking. A series of such conversations led us to state, "Why wait for someone else to innovate? Why not us?” “If not now, when?” After all, between us we had nearly 100 years of rich, diverse, and complimentary alcobev experience. This simple statement sparked a series of conversations that eventually led to the creation of our company.
That's our story, the essence of which we have imbibed into our company's business vision and corporate culture - named 'World of Brands’ (WoB).
GURPREET SINGH
Co-Founder | Director (Ex UBL-Heineken)
Gurpreet Singh is an alcobev authority with 26+ years of experience. He is the former ‘Head of Marketing’ at ‘UB-Heineken’ and was an integral part of the exclusive ‘Management Committee’ team which ran the overall business. He has worked across all critical verticals ranging from sales, marketing, new product innovation, business development and strategy; displaying a tremendous amount of thought leadership and vision. He has created some of the most memorable campaigns, successful sponsorship programs and has been recognised and awarded numerous times by prestigious institutions. He was instrumental in elevating Kingfisher to its current iconic status and has launched some of the most successful brands in the category such as Kingfisher Ultra, Kingfisher Ultra Max, Kingfisher Ultra Witbier, Kingfisher Storm and Amstel.
He is passionate about sports, extreme sports, trekking and travelling which includes climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro, Mt. Everest Base Camp, Kala Patthar, sky-diving, bungee-jumping, deep-sea diving, shark-cage diving and white-water rafting in different parts of the world.
ROHAN PATNAIK
Co-Founder | Director (Ex HUL, Diageo, ColorPlus, Red Bus)
Rohan Patnaik has 23+ years of corporate and startup experience. He has been an entrepreneur since the last 9 years, during which time he co-founded and successfully exited from Kamatan Farm Tech, an Agri-Tech supply chain start-up company which was acquired by Samunatti, one of India’s largest non-banking financial institutions (NBFCs). He is a graduate from IIT Bombay and a post-graduate from IIM Lucknow. Prior to his entrepreneurial stint, he worked in managerial and leadership positions across sales, operations, and supply chain in HUL, Diageo, ColorPlus, and Red Bus. At Diageo he is credited in navigating the company through its most turbulent times in India and winning back credibility for the company and their brands.
Rohan is an avid drummer and a triathlete and pursues both these hobbies very seriously. He has successfully completed the Iron Man and is currently training to undertake a solo swim across the English Channel.
NIRMAL RAJANI
Co-Founder | Director (Ex USL-Diageo, UBL-Heineken, ABD)
Nirmal Rajani is a skilled business manager with 35+ of experience across leading alcobev companies. He has held leadership positions and has gained a deep understanding of the Indian alcohol market with his stints across USL-Diageo, UBL-Heineken and Allied Breweries and Distillers. He has a unique ability to start a business from the ground up and handle the complex alcobev industry's market dynamics. A person of farsighted vision, he has the ability to see challenges and opportunities and turn them into business advantages.
Nirmal has over the years devoted considerable time towards community service and his various philanthropic activities.
RAGHUNANDAN
Co-Founder | Director (Serial Entrepreneur)
Raghunandan is a serial entrepreneur with over 20 years of startup experience and proven success across IT Services, Retail, Logistics, Food-Tech (Food-Technology), Agri-Tech (Agriculture Technology), and Alcobev-Tech (Alcohol Technology). He is credited in transforming the alcobev buying experience when he created India’s first walk-in format outlets under the brand name ‘Liquor Mart’ in Bengaluru which he later franchised. In 2016 he co-founded and successfully exited Kamatan Farm Tech an Agri-Tech supply chain start-up company which was acquired by Samunatti one of India’s largest non-banking financial institutions (NBFCs).
He remains passionate in the food & beverages sector by travelling to and experiencing this across multiple countries and re-creating similar experiences in India through various investments in the F&B sector.
